This is the TIME TO SEEK CLOSENESS in your family, since your children are very young, wiht the “Dare to Be You” activities, we are learning to develop the self-esteem and improve the communication and problem-solving skills within the family.
Families United uses a curriculum known as “Dare To Be You”, developed and tested by the University of Colorado (Dr. Jan Millar-Heyl), with whole families. Children and youth, as well as child-care providers, are welcomed to participate in different activities that are age-appropriate.

This prevention program targets high school students who are at risk of taking drugs and alcohol.
It is an 8 week program that helps youth develop a stronger self-concept, resist peer pressure, make better decisions and learn where to go for help. In addition, as they develop new skills they also learn about how to develop a prevention message on the radio.
What qualifications do I need to volunteer with the after school program?
Most of the volunteers have not previously had experience working with children in an academic setting. In fact, the center is often used as an agency where those who are interested in pursuing careers in education can get practical, hands-on experience.
What are the age ranges of the Children?
Our program serves children from infancy to teenagers.
