Our History

Family Life Center is a 501c.3. nonprofit organization established on September 29, 2005 as the outreach arm of Ekklesia Miami with a vision to build a regenerated community anchored in compassion, love and generosity. Ekklesia Miami is a congregation of about 2000 Hispanic immigrant families serving the community since 1996.

We serve children and families primarily in the West Kendall area of Miami-Dade County. Our goal is to provide them with prevention, training and other services to equip and transform their lives.

The majority of the people we help are first-generation youth whose parents recently immigrated from Central and South America. Many of these parents are single, working mothers with low English language proficiency.

Our mentoring, Saturday4Arts, English for Speakers of Other Languages, after-school and other programs are designed to give those being served the tools necessary to become independent of organizational and government assistance.

Family Life Center’s services teach people to have a renewed mind and perspective on their problems while finding new ways to solve their struggles. Individuals learn these techniques and practice them on others who are coming up behind them.
