United Families / Familias Unidas

This is the TIME TO SEEK CLOSENESS in your family, since your children are very young, wiht the “Dare to Be You” activities, we are learning to develop the self-esteem and improve the communication and problem-solving skills within the family.

This program is also for staff at pre-schools and daycares.

Families United uses a curriculum known as “Dare To Be You”, developed and tested by the University of Colorado (Dr. Jan Millar-Heyl), with whole families. Children and youth, as well as child-care providers, are welcomed to participate in different activities that are age-appropriate. The lessons and other group activities are lead by trained facilitators who have worked with children (and parents) of different ages.

Parents and children, Fridays at 7:30 pm.

To the Volunteers:

We emphasize the importance of your experience as parents, grandparents and trained child-care personnel. Your training and education in the area of Early Childhood Development would be highly valuable in this program, since quality of the content, extension of your support and the possibility of delegated to you the responsibility of carrying out these lessons and activities with different participants depend in a large part on your contribution WITH THE TALENTS THAT YOU HAVE. You are also highly encouraged to participate as a volunteer in the Parent Council so that we know what families in our community really need
